La sala n. 5 presenta una molteplice varietà di oggetti destinati ad uso personale e/o familiare la cui proposta estetica risente fortemente delle mode, dei colori o dei materiali in voga nel periodo a cavallo fra gli anni Sessanta e Settanta. Il televisore o il mobile bar vengono realizzati in materiale plastico, con forme e colori tali da assumere carattere comune e generare quella tendenza che fu poi comunemente definita “Space age”.
Gli anni Settanta furono segnati da un acuto conflitto politico e sociale, di cui gli eventi di piazza Fontana ne costituirono il doloroso spartiacque.
